Blasphemous wraps up this December
What's more, there's a sequel coming in 2023.
Blasphemous, designer The Game Kitchen's sublime gothic activity platformer, is wrapping up its agonizing recovery experience on ninth December with the appearance of another free story extension, named Wounds of Eventide, in addition to there's a completely fledged spin-off due in 2023.
Blasphemous, which delivered to merited recognition back in 2019, recounts the account of The Penitent One, a sharp hatted individual with a security fencing blade, compelled to wander across the damned realm of Cvstodia - a ruined, yet richly introduced universe of dull strict iconography, beasts, and infringing frenzy.
It's magnificent stuff, presenting a drawing in mix of 2D Souls-like and Metroidvania supported by some intriguing world-building and beautifully fashioned, inauspiciously remarkable symbolism. Obviously, it was an outright delight to get back to Blasphemous the next year when The Game Kitchen proceeded with The Penitent One's story in its free The Stir of Dawn DLC.
Also, it turns out The Game Kitchen actually isn't done; Blasphemous' recently declared second aiding of free story DLC, Wounds of Eventide, will conclude the Penitent One's flow undertakings when it dispatches for Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on ninth December, presenting new managers, regions, things, and, as the designer puts it "the game's actual completion".
Regardless of whether that will be the final appearance ever to be made by The Penitent One remaining parts not yet clear, yet we do realize that Wounds of Eventide will not stamp the finish of Blasphemous as a series. The Game Kitchen has declared it's right now dealing with a spin-off, which is expected to show up at some point in 2023.
